There is another option for all you hard-working musicians out there that dont have time to get Mcdonald's jobs !

I (Vuz, VmanEvents) went on the course below and can reccommend it highly. You receive a small supplement on top of Job Seekers Allowance, and you can still spend your time learning about the music industry, or playing music.

More importantly, you will be sat face to face with people that know about all aspects of the industry, and can guide you down whatever path you want to take.

Open Learning Route (MOLP) for unemployed musicians and DJs, aged 18 to 24

The New Deal for Musicians open learning programme offers you:

 A specially designed course to meet your need and make sure your achieve it

 Regular monthly face-to-face meeting with you personal tutor

 Practical workbooks designed by music industry people

 Access to master classes and tuitions for recording and music technology

 Access to specialist singing, song writing, instrumentals and DJ skills

 Networking opportunities

 Regular training sessions about the music business with full, part time staff and special guest speakers from the industry

 Travel expenses will be paid

The Open Learning Programme can be very flexible and you can study around music and other commitments.
The learning activities will be based on the 8 MOLP workbooks, covering the following topics:

Ø Introduction to New Deal for Musicians
Ø Business skills
Ø Technology
Ø Management and enterprise
Ø Performance
Ø Composition and songwriting
Ø Music business affairs
Ø Career development

Each workbook includes a range of practical tasks to complete and you are expected to keep a daily log of music activity related to your career progress.

In addition to the MOLP course we can offer you with FREE recording and production time, access to music related workshop and projects, and support with business idea and applying for grants.
