Always happy to plug festival dates so here is one in Witney, near Oxford. Why am I plugging a festival down there? Because I have been to Witney. It’s a quaint little place and I am pretty sure I pulled a fitty while I was there.
This summer, July 31st will see the birth of a new Oxfordshire music festival. Duckfest, a one day outdoor charity event will take place just outside Witney featuring a selection of the best of the local and not-so-local crop. Psychid, one year on from their critically acclaimed debut album on DB Records and well into work on their second, will headline the day in their first hometown gig for what seems like ages. Other bands on the bill will include Londoners The Souls celebrating their first birthday this summer with releases
on Fierce Panda & Velocity Recordings and Cambridge-based The Mono Effect fresh from appearances on compilations for Punktastic Magazine and Small Town American Records. In addition local favourites Smilex, Bridge and The Evenings are joined by Reading bands Rebus, Euclid and Velocity Recordings' Three Litre.
Tickets for Duckfest are available from the website www.duckfest.co.uk (which also has further line- up information) or from www.wegottickets.com.
