Your favourite independent new music promoters, Glasswerk.co.uk, are heading along the M62 to the fine city of Leeds on Sunday August 1st to launch the Glasswerk Leeds piece of the jigsaw puzzle, ie launching the Glasswerk.co.uk Leeds music website. To mark this virtual occasion they are throwing a semi-all dayer gig filled with the cream of local Leeds talent. Performing are This Et Al, Lycra Sleep, The Lucida Console, !Forward, Russia!, The Old House and iLIKETRAINS. Doors are at 5pm and it’s a delightfull £4 entry all night long.

The Old House – Wakey lads with top indie-punk-POP tunes, “catchier than pneumonia”

iLIKETRAINS – A post rock band writing beautifully arranged epic songs influenced by Sigur Ros and Mum to XTC and The Smiths. Their live shows are haunted by super projections and slide shows.

Mat Ong (chief booker) states, I am very excited about opening up our operations in Leeds. There are some really cool bands coming out from there at the moment yet the national media seems to have not noticed that The Music, Kaiser Chiefs, The Gliteratti, Thisgirl etc all come from this part of the country. More exiting is that its not just one type of music emerging but a whole bunch of different styles.
