The Carling Weekend

The MAIN STAGE at this year’s festivals has a new addition and fast rising stars to complement the already incredible line-up for this year’s event.

Joining their biggest fan, MORRISSEY, on Saturday 28th August at the Reading site and Sunday 29th August at the Leeds site will be NEW YORK DOLLS. The band, who drew a huge crowd supporting the man himself at his recent homecoming show in Manchester, will be appearing on the MAIN STAGE in a late addition to the bill.

Accompanying them will be the latest British band to smash into the UK Top 5 with their debut album. RAZORLIGHT, who were originally booked to play the RADIO ONE STAGE on Friday 27th August in Reading and Saturday 28th August in Leeds are now appearing on the MAIN STAGE alongside THE WHITE STRIPES and MORRISSEY. As the band’s meteoric rise over the last few months has testified, this is sure to be a set that stands in festival history as a moment when a band truly arrive.

These changes to the bill have also seen MY MORNING JACKET cancel their planned appearance alongside the previously released news that THE VINES will now not appear at this year’s festivals due to singer Craig Nicholl’s need for rest and recuperation.

In addition to the best music over six stages and three days, The Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals has also just announced THE COMEDY STAGE highlighting the top names in stand-up for the three days at both sites and late night entertainment in the form of cabaret, films and special late night live music performances to kept the party going long into the night.

As previously reported, The Carling Weekend: Reading Festival is now totally sold out of weekend tickets but day tickets are still available. Both a limited number of weekend tickets and day tickets are still available for The Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival.
