3Hedz present “Hip Hop's Global Voice” @ The Big Chill Festival Mediamix Tent

Festivals are always a great time to think about the state of music, its ability to provoke, to transcend. 3Hedz want to look at the current state of Hip Hop, and its unique ability to reflect, as a lifestyle, everything in the world around us. We intend to take the idea beyond the festival,
opening up the possibilities of more forums, of taking the format to schools and colleges.

A change have been made to the line up, with Will of Big Dada Records pulling out and being replaced by Ed of Scenario records ( the Next Men ..etc).

FORMAT OF EVENING:

HIP HOP'S GLOBAL VOICE

We want an informal session of Q&A on the subject of independent Hip Hop around the planet. We'll kick off with asking the panel about their earliest memories of Hip Hop and what is means to them now. We want to talk about the issues Hip Hop concerns itself with and what it possibly should be addressing. We want to know if other smaller Hip Hop nations are treated with as much respect. Panellists will be asked about
their specific area of expertise – and people they respect, and who we should check for.

There will be an exploration of what you rate amongst the current output of films, books, visuals and tunes. There is a need to mention the inspirational nature of the music while keeping the focus on the fresh and inventive.

Basically we want those in the know to think in new directions
whilst those who don't to be brought into the global family. Nobody is excluded are they?

2. Richy Pitch DJ Session
7.15pm – 8.10pm

A selection of new productions alongside some soulful Hip Hop which can also be heardon his recent mixtape 'Summer Madness' – the perfect Big Chill vibe!

3. Culturama independent Hip Hop video's
8.10pm – 9.40pm

90 video presentation of Non MTV endorsed independent hip hop and documentary videos from the States. Peter Agoston runs Culturama as an exercise in preservation through documentation but also as an
antidote to stale rap videos and posturing.
