Rocking Festivals Competition!!

The Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals 2004

So you’ve heard the hype. You know all these fantastic bands are playing live at two superb venues; you know 2003 was a double sell-out; you know you’d give your left arm to go and enjoy the shows, but you also know that weekend tickets to Reading and to Leeds are sold out.

What you don’t know is that Glasswerk London has a pair of weekend passes for each venue up for grabs. How do you get your grubby mitts on them? Simple – answer our stupidly easy competition question. ‘Where’s the question?’ I hear you ask, well we’ll get to that, but first you’re going to have your appetite whetted by reading this:

The Carling Weekend, Reading and Leeds Festivals returns following a hugely successful double sell-out in 2003 with the ultimate headliners in rock and roll for another year of Britain’s favourite music festival. This year’s festivals will ensure the biggest and best names in the world of rock and roll grace Richfield Avenue and the superb new Bramham Park site for the best weekend of music all summer. As is traditional, a host of exclusive performances and the now traditional rise of band’s that featured on our smaller stages last year reaching greater heights combine with the best new talent and the biggest names to create the best festival bill of the summer of music.

The Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals Headliners

Reading:
27 August: The Darkness, The Offspring, Ash, The Hives
28 August: The White Stripes, Morrissey, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand
29 August: Green Day, 50 Cent, Lostprophets, The Streets

Leeds:
27 August: The White Stripes, Morrissey, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand
28 August: Green Day, 50 Cent, Lostprophets, The Streets
29 August: The Darkness, The Offspring, Ash, The Hives

It’s your only chance to see The Darkness in England and Wales this year. The same goes for The White Stripes. Make use of the opportunity to see US legends Green Day and The Offspring while they’re over here; revel in awe at the superstar that is Morrissey and bask in the glory of Ash’s new album.

Don’t forget the Radio One Stage which has acted as the springboard to The Main Stage for many bands over the year, or The Carling Stage for the best place to find all the new bands that everyone is talking about. There’s also The Dance Stage, offering a heady mix of beats, breaks and raps to keep the party rocking, not to mention cocktail waiters and waitresses keeping the crowd refreshed. Make sure you visit The Concrete Jungle – the festival within a festival, returning for it’s third year. Packed from the moment the doors open until the last note ends, The Concrete Jungle is now a mainstay of the festivals and a welcome addition to the festival’s aim to bring the best of all alternative music to you, the masses. And last but not least is The Comedy Stage with late night entertainment, cabaret performances and all day laughs.

Whatever your preference, it’s gonna be one hell of a weekend and you can be there. How? Just email alex.machorton@glasswerk.co.uk with the answer to this ridiculously easy question:

What is the name of The Darkness' multi-platinum debut album?

Competition entrants much be aged 18 or over.
