Don't bother Wait-ing…..Tom's sold out

All 3400 tickets for Tom Waits’ London show were sold in just 30 minutes of the box-office opening this morning — one of the fastest concert sell-outs in UK music history.

The show — part of Waits’ eight-date Real Gone European tour — is at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on Tuesday 23rd November. It is Waits’ first UK appearance since he played at the same theatre almost exactly 17 years before, on 22nd November 1987.

The Apollo concert follows the release of Tom Waits’ new album, Real Gone, which is in stores on Monday 4th October.

His new touring band features Marc Ribot (guitar), Larry Taylor (bass) and Brain (drums), the same musicians who also appear on Real Gone, which has been written and produced by Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, his longtime collaborator.

The 15-track CD unveils Waits’ new musical hybrid, crafted from primal blues, Jamaican rock-steady grooves, African and Latin rhythms and melodies and what Waits calls “cubist funk”. The album is released on Anti Records.

The Real Gone tour also includes dates in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.

Tom Waits also confirmed his participation in the launch of the charity music site Warchild this week. For further details of this exclusive preview, please go to link
