Glasswerk Showcase Upstairs at the Garage Weds October 6th

corporation:blend * crash convention * Methodaire * Blue Sun

Wednesday 6th October, 2004
Upstairs at the Garage, Highbury
Doors 8pm £6 (£5 with flyer)
Nearest tube: Highbury and Islington

No Slovenians, Italians, French or Hungarians this week, just four awesome English bands to entertain you on a Wednesday night.

corporation:blend. Rising rock idols with an electro punk twist, anthemic tunes, and theatrical performance. Hailing from the buzzing musical backdrop that is New Cross, c:b have made noises in all the right places. Literally. They’ve gigged relentlessly with the likes of King Adora, Art Brut, and Six by Seven.

Elephant and Castle’s Crash Convention have built up a great fan-base and reputation from their packed nights at Brixton’s Windmill and beyond, and it’s hardly surprising with their essential alt. punk garage rock. There’s arguably a little bit of Libertininess in there but in truth they’re copying no one. Glasswerk are immensely proud to have CC on one of our showcase nights.

“one of the most essential debut singles of the year, ignore them at your peril” Drowned in Sound

“they do make exceedingly good rock records. Best glam/punk vocals since early manics” Daily Star

Methodaire reminded me of early Doors and Country Joe And The Fish. But, they don't really need or deserve comparisons; Methodaire are fully capable of doing what they do and they do it extremely well” Toxic Pete Music

“The future of rock music, very fucking cool” Tank magazine.

“Faith No More meets The Doors in a sleazy bar” Now TV

Blue Sun are a West London rock group formed in 2002. Established on the London scene with gigs at Dublin Castle, Borderline, Bull and Gate, Gossips etc already on their cv, Blue Sun’s easily accessible rock is well suited to kick off the night.
