The 2004 Shortlist Music Prize, America's version to the Mercury Music
Prize, has been announced and the nominees appear to be a standard fair, euro heavy as usual; past winners include Damien Rice and Sigur Ros. This year seems to tilt the same way, 2004 Mercury Music Prize winners Franz Ferdinand are near dead cert winners, though they face stiff opposition in the form of Dizzee Rascal, Air and current hit act, The Killers, who probably have the strongest shout being USA natives. Winner is announced November 8th.
