Athlete announce new album

Athlete will release their second album on January 31st 2005. The album entitled Tourist is the follow up to the band¹s debut album release
Vehicles and Animals, which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize 2003 and has now sold 250,000 copies to date.

The first single from, Tourist will be a track entitled Wires and will be released on January 17th 2005.

Athlete will do a live tour around the release of ŒTourist¹, dates are yet
to be announced. Their last UK tour ended with an explosive show at Brixton Academy. Recently, new songs were showcased on the main stage at this years V2004 festival including Wires which received a rapturous reception.
