UNVEILED: THE UK FESTIVAL AWARDS 2004

Virtual Festivals.com is proud to host the UK Festival Awards 2004, the world’s first specific music industry awards to recognise the contributions of event organisers, promoters and artists in this field.

Well over 2 million music fans attend festivals in the UK alone every year, so the Festival Awards gives these people an opportunity to recognise and reward those artists and organisers who made the summer one to remember.

12 Award Categories have been drawn up (see below), with the nominees selected by a panel of over 100 journalists and photographers – all of whom got their legs muddy and their faces burnt at many of this year’s festivals.

Winners will be announced on December 6th, determined via public vote on a dedicated website – link – where votes will be counted over a three week period from 15th November. There will be press opportunities when the victors are presented with their trophies in person and details of the presentations will be announced in due course.

The site will remain online, displaying the results and accepting nominatons for next year’s awards, which are planned to take the form of a televised and webcast event.

Steve Jenner, Managing Director of Virtual Festivals comments: “Providing the most comprehensive coverage of the music festival scene from an unbiased, objective standpoint makes Virtual Festivals.com the perfect vehicle to drive these Awards, which will become an annual fixture, extending beyond the UK.”
