The Darkness Go Download Only
The Darkness have teamed up with chart e-tailer Recordstore to release their first ever download only single, a re-recording of their modern classic ‘Get Your Hands Off My Woman’.
Recorded with the help of Queen’s legendary producer Roy Thomas Baker ‘Get Your Hands Off My Woman Again’ will be released as a download only single for a month from Monday 8th November.
The track is being sold for 99p (or £1.50 via SMS) as a Windows Media Audio 9 file via a Recordstore operated download shop on the band’s web site link. The download will be transferable to 3 portable devices and burnable onto three different CDs
The song was originally released before the band’s break through and stopped just outside the top 40. In a treat for fans, anyone downloading the single in its first week of release will be entered into a draw to win three pairs of tickets to a special London warm up gig for their forthcoming winter national tour. The tour starts on 24th November in Nottingham.
The band have been working with Recordstore since the early days. And in September they made all the songs from their debut album available for download through their web site, adding to the existing catalogue of CDs, Poster, T-shirts and more unusual merchandise such as thongs.
The band are currently working on new material for their follow up album, to be released in the new year.
