Having spent most of 2004 writing, Capdown are back with their first full UK tour in almost a year to spread Yuletide cheer with their ferociously incredible live performances. Capdown's roots lie in hardcore punk and ska, but they’re as happy dipping into rock, dub and drum n bass. Always energy-packed and anthemic, their sound is a powerful mix of Fugazi’s taut, tight, rhythmic hardcore; The Ruts’ dirty dub-influenced punk; Madness’s infectious, dancehall-crazy ska and the mosh-friendly insanity of System Of A Down. They also share the strong political standpoints of these bands.
New material from the band dubbed “the best ragga thrash radicals since Bad Brains” by NME will be available in the new year. Capdown's two independently released albums to date, 'Civil Disobedients' (recently featured as one of Kerrang's five essential ska-punk albums) and 'Pound For The Sound' have sold well in excess of 30,000 copies. Last year's 'New Revolutionaries' and 'Act Your Rage' singles are still staples on Radio One's 'The Lock Up' and Jake from the band has been a regular contributor to the show.
