This year the Brits are 25 years old. To celebrate, a new category is added this year of “Best ever single”. The 25 songs in the shortlist are all by a Brittish artist, and must have been released between 1977, and the end of 2004. The victor shall be chosen by listeners of BBC Radio 2. There are the usual suspects, though to be honest the exclusion of Wigfield – “Saturday Night” could prove to be controversial.
