You Got Game?

Association with Dr.Dre usually equals the big time, by the sounds of it “The Game” is already on his way to making it with his debut album for Aftermath records “The Game vol.1” out on 24th January with up coming support dates fot the Snoop Dog.

How cliched this hip hop dude is in history is almost beyond belief with troubled youth, guns and drugs. However like the modern greats its that core that forms his drive for success ,or he claims it, to “terrorise hip hop”.

Read the story to find out the dizzle:

Since the glory days of NWA, the West Coast has been waiting for a mythical figure to emerge – a rapper worthy of walking in the footsteps of legends like Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Snoop…and now the wait is over. Dr. Dre has signed a new artist called The Game to his Aftermath label who is about to put the West Coast back on the map.

The Game (aka Jayceon Taylor) has a compelling story. Raised in foster home, he started selling drugs on the street at the age of 10 and was a talented basketball player at school. But after losing two brothers, a cousin and numerous friends to gang violence, he gave up his hoop dreams and completely immersed himself in the gang way of life.

Three years ago during a drug deal he took five bullets to the chest, arms and leg and woke up in hospital from a three day coma. 'It could have been fatal,' he says. 'But it wasn't so, f*ck it, I came back to terrorise hip hop.” Since that moment The Game has been focussed on nothing other than hip hop in order to make his way out of the gang environment. Five months later he was signed on the strength of a mixtape track which fell into Dr. Dre's hands.

But the story merely puts The Game in perspective. The real deal is the music, and the music is absolute fire. Producers include Dre, Eminem, Kanye West, Timbaland and Jus Blaze. Guests include Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Nate Dogg, G Unit's Tony Yayo, Busta Rhymes and Faith Evans. Tracks already burning up the street are Westside Story feat. 50 Cent and the inspirational Higher.

The Game's album will be released January 24th , with the first single How We Do feat. 50 Cent dropping in March.

In the U.K. the album has been repackaged to include The Documentary – an extremely hard, riveting short film about The Game, his music, his life in the troubled ganglands of Compton, an insight into his relationships with gang members on all sides, his home and family and the death of his close friend Billboard who was shot down during the making of the film.
