Following the introduction of the new Licensing Act on 7 February, WMF will be hosting seminars aimed at informing venue managers, owners, promoters, festival organisers and artist managers of the impact and opportunities for live music the Act brings.
Guest speakers at the seminars will include representatives from the Department of Culture Media & Sport, Musicians’ Union and the Securities Industry Association (SIA). Local Authority Licensing Officers and representatives from police forces in Wales will also be speaking of how the Act will be implemented across the country.
The Licensing Act 2003 will mean drastic changes in the way venues and events are licensed and will now be administered by Local Authorities. A single integrated licensing scheme for premises that supply alcohol, provide regulated entertainment or provide late night refreshment will replace Public Entertainment Licenses among others.
These seminars are free and open to anyone involved in live music in Wales. For more information and to reserve your place at these events please contact Lisa Matthews, 01978 314896 or email mail
