After a super smashing great event last time. Academy Unsigned returns once more to ram down our throats, 5 of the best up and coming acts from Liverpool. Saturday 5th March @ The Liverpool Acadmey 2, Liverpool University.
Opening the show are local indie wizards The Iodines (formerly Halo Effect). Their blend of indie power-pop is a lot o' fun. Front man Paul Howe struts about the stage howling and bellowing out high pitched vocals whilst backed by a 'tight as a nuns chuff' rhythm section. Check em' mothers..
Lo-Vision continue the Indie proceedings with their Feeder-esque take. Catchy guitar driven hooks and a pounding rhythm section aid Gary Lo-vision as he sings his warm welcoming vocals. Lo-Vision are a band who improve at each gig and have created their own blend of melodic, atmospheric rock.
Local Emo-Grunge rockers Day With Mary hit the stage next. Day With Mary have built up a reputation of being one of the most exciting live acts in the UK. With an ever growing fan base and a recent return from a full UK tour and dates across Europe to promote their debut single 'Generation Dead' Day With Mary are simply unstoppable. Catch them while you can.

Led Zeppelin fuelled riffs and attitude introduce the Black Jackals. Their 'pure rock n roll' sound and swagger have gained them media attention and Liverpool radio appearances. In 2004 the black jackals played many gigs across Liverpool, including the world famous Matthew St Festival.

Finishing off proceedings are the excellent The Famous Last Words (formerly Trilby). Spotted supporting the likes of Tenacious D and Capdown. TFLW are a fantastic live act who play a perfect blend of pop with a touch of pop-punk rock for good measure. TFLW are currently on tour supporting Rooster. Check them out, they’re hot hot hot.
