Leeds Festival Gets Approval

Authorities have approved Mean Fiddler's application to stage the Carling Weekender: Leeds Festival at Leeds Bramham Park in August.

The licensing committee at Leeds Civic Hall confirmed its approval for the application in less than one hour, granting permission for the 55,000-capacity festival to take place.

Mean Fiddler managing director Melvin Benn says, “This is great news. Last year's festival once again demonstrated that Bramham Park is the perfect venue for the North's only music festival and we can now look forward to another three days of great music and world famous bands in 2005.”

Last year the sold-out festival featured headline performances from The White Stripes, The Darkness and Green Day. As yet, no bands have been confirmed for this year's three-day event.
