WHAT: The KBC tour
WHERE: Leeds, Preston, Sheffield, London, Stoke, Wigan, Manchester, Leicester
WHEN: march 2005
High Voltage Sounds' debut release featured The Longcut, Performance, The Sonar Yen and Lisa Brown. The Manchester based record label now takes another bold step, releasing the single 'Trippin' by Preston based outfit The KBC (7 march 2005).
The KBC are James Mulholland (vocals, keys, guitar) Michael Brown (drums) and Richard Ormerod (bass) all under 20 and a big future ahead of them. Their trippy disco punk has been garnering them a large following in their hometown and across the North, and this single looks set to propel them into the nations consciousness.
'Trippin' is the sound of a band making a bold attempt to fuse together angular guitar parts with big drum beats and infectious guitar parts. The single also features two of the highlights from the bands set, the atmospheric and brooding Days Of Disillusion, and Trippin. Both of which were recorded after a couple of late night sessions at Michael's house.
