Britney Spears has announced that she intends to keep a lid on her private life in future. The singer, who is supposedly taking a break from the spotlight, made the comments on her official website, following an indepth interview in US magazine Allure.
The feature reflects on many aspects of Spears' recent history and makes reference to her breakup with Justin Timberlake, her 'Vegas' marriage to Jason Alexander and the shaky start to her current marriage with Kevin Federline.
The magazine, of which Spears is this month's cover star, describes her short-lived marriage to Alexander as a “desperate cry to her family” and concludes that the singer is “implausibly naïve” and “hardly more grown-up than many preteens”.
In the interview, the singer puts her recent weight gain down to a post-marriage “honeymoon effect” and reveals that she has no intention of having a baby.
However, in the message on Britneyspears.com, she suggests that this might be her last interview for some time.
In the post, she says: “I feel the article focused too much on my personal life and various events from my past.
“I've already dealt with these issues with the support of my family and friends and have fully moved on.”
She adds: “In the future, I will refrain from discussing my private life in interviews.
“It will be expressed solely through art.”
