GLASSWERK.CO.UK PRESENTS THE RETURN OF THE QUEERS

With lyrics such as “she got no tit” and “I’m really goo-goo over you, I’m mentally retarded too,” Lookout Records’ The Queers are anything but. With more than two decades behind them, The Queers are something of a punk rock institution. Not every band could get away mixing the sound of The Ramones with Beach Boys, yet The Queers quirkiness works a treat. Despite a notable absence from the music scene, music promoter’s link (check out website for more info and other cool stuff) present one of the most prolific punk bands of recent times. Having played with bands such as Rancid and having just finished a US tour, The Queers hit UK shores in June.

(Please not there is no Manchester show)

Support at the Liverpool show comes from The Down and Outs, Jolly Not So, Strangeland and The Inadequates.

Dates are:

2nd June @ Barfly, Liverpool – Doors 7.30pm
5th June @ Josephs Well, Leeds – Doors 7pm

The Down and Outs
Following on the work of The Business, The Press, Cocksparrer and One Man Army, Liverpool based The Down and Outs play “charged street punk, anthems for the city kids, drenched in blood, sweat and honesty” (Dead and Gone Records). The band recently supported Rancid’s Lars Fredrikson & The Bastards. Their latest album “Boys from the Blackstuff” is out now on Dead and Gone Records.

Tickets are £6 advance, available at 08700 600 100
