Secret Garden Party

THE SECRET GARDEN PARTY enters its third year this summer and has the biggest and best line-up ever, complete with more facilities, two live music stages and two-minute-walk-away parking and lakeside camping. In a wonderful, magical setting in the Cambridgeshire countryside, this is one of the summer’s most sought after tickets. The three day event is good value £75: for early birds, a very reasonable price of £55.

Headlining the main this year will be the fantastic Super Furry Animals. The bill also features the likes of legendary Jamaican ska band, Desmond Dekker and The Aces, new Top 20 band Hard Fi, the influential System 7, coolest bandsof the moment, Mystery Jets and The Noisettes and new hotly-tipped rockers Kapwoski.

The Up All Night Stage features an eclectic mix; from the Japanese art-thrash of Electric Eel Shock to the oompha of Misty’s Big Adventure, to the quirkily catchy Guillemots and the ‘60’s inspired harmonies of The Loose Salute. This stage promises a tasty smorgasbord of fascinating styles.

Heading up the DJ roster is Adam Freeland the always-brilliant Eddy Temple Morris from XFM, Andy Smith from Portishead, plus Go Home Productions, Neon Heights, Crazy Penis, amillionsons and many more.

Confirmations so far are:

Super Furry Animals, Desmond Dekker and The Aces, Hard Fi, The Frank Popp Ensemble, Eddy Temple Morris, Adam Freeland, System 7, Mystery Jets, Neon Heights, Amphetameanies, Baby Head, Speed Circus, The Eyes & Shuffle.

Tucked away snugly in the ‘lower field’ of a Cambridgeshire farmstead, The Secret Garden is without question one of the most beautiful festival sites ever seen. A small brook gurgles through the willows that run the length of the site, and, beyond, a huge lake stretches away into the horizon. All over the site, lights, paintings, rope bridges, flags and streamers blend with the environment. The Secret Garden Party aims to make the festivalgoer feel part of the lunacy and the source of it. Everyone is included and you are as likely to meet a local tractor driver as your mates from London. Side amusements include: giant hammocks, tree houses, the movie tea tent, massage, pub quizzes, children’s treasure hunts, space hopper races, strange competitions, japery and snail racing!
