Doors 7.30pm, £5.
@ Academy 2, Liverpool University.
Friday 3rd June.
Mesemenie –
Deservedly headlining they ring out a full bodied wall of sound with songs that will rattle the foundations of the academy. Melodies that swell and dip, pull and sway; listening to Mesemenie is like an oceanic journey.
The Jackals –
A band that has metamorphosed from a clichéd cosmic scouse collection of scallys into a refined, soul filled combo with deep sing-a-long grooves. Awesomely catchy and dance-adelic.
The Bridge –
Trippy psychdelia flowing from The Doors obvious influence. Original stoner rock that will explode on to the main stage of Academy 2.
The Quarter –
Wild locals who revel in causing musical mayhem wherever they go. Past gigs have been legendary in their inspiring crowd interactivity with stage invasions a regular repartee. Serious exponents of Merseybeat.
Dead Sea Tapes –
A brand new band who have played less than a handful of low key gigs. Think unwittingly bizarre song changes with orchestral movements seemingly un-coordinated but fitting in to the whole.
