LEVI'S ONES TO WATCH
AT SONY ERICSSON PROUD GALLERIES,
Chalk Farm, Stables Market, The Gin House,
Live music is enjoying a long awaited revival, and bands such as The Scissor Sisters, Kaiser Chiefs, and The Paddingtons are reclaiming the charts.
Now is the time to listen out for the future sounds of music and see some of these bands exposed at the Levi's Ones To Watch Exhibition.
Levi's Ones To Watch (LOTW) is a visionary programme aimed at exposing the best of emerging musical talent. This summer Levi's have joined up with Sony Ericsson Proud Galleries, to launch a landmark exhibition that will identify the bands of the future.
The exhibition will showcase over 60 images, and will put a face to the new wave of talent set to rock the music industry. It will encompass the work of three photographers. Will Fenning will exhibit over 40 shots taken over the last 14 months, during which he has tracked LOTW bands including Razorlight, The Departure and Death From Above 1979, as they triggered frenzy in Barfly venues across the country.
Additionally, photographers Benedict Johnson and Morgan O'Donovan will be given exclusive access to two LOTW bands on their inaugural UK tours – The Kaiser Chiefs and The Bravery. Each will spend a week on the road, 24/7 with one band, capturing the highs and lows of their meteoric rise to fame. They will document for the first time the moment they break through the mainstream to become two of the most talked about acts of 2005.
Finally, the exhibition will also showcase over 20 shots of bands 'before they were famous'. These will be the results of a nationwide competition launched in early April to find an amateur photographer that, from August 2006, will take on the role of official LOTW photographer.
The competition will be judged by a panel of esteemed judges including photographer Roger Sargent, and Alex Proud (director of Proud Galleries).
With an opening launch party at which one of last year's top bands will play a live acoustic set, Levi's Ones To Watch at Sony Ericsson Proud Camden will visually define the sounds of 2005 and will provide an unrivalled account of the bands that look set to define a new era in musical history.
The exhibition runs publicly from 18 June – 10th July '05. For more details visit link
