On June 11th Ludes have a little surprise for their fans, in the build up to the release of their debut album later this year, Ludes will be giving away a totally limited edition, four track, 10″ EP at a one off gig at the legendary Crypt in Camberwell.
The EP will include golden oldie James' Twisted Polka, a leery love story seen through the optics of a cheap bottle of up turned Imperial vodka.
New favourite Traffic Lights; An old school rock n roller about one of the bands favourite late night, tour bus past times. A cover of the early Bowie classic Rubber band.
And finally the blues stomp of Bad For My Health which seeped out of a late night recording session last summer, that is the best mix of early 70's swamp Stones and Tom Waits drunken holler that will ever be produced by 5 South London chaps.
Leading up to and around the party you will be able to get much fun stuff from here: link including a free download of Traffic Lights with full artwork, check out the Camberwell art students animated video of Traffic Lights, buy signed prints from the EP photo shoot taken by photographer Jackie Dew Matthews and win tickets to this spectacular shindig.
The night itself will feature live music from various South London regulars, a one man band, Ride Em N Booze DJ's and the gloriously dishevelled Ludes themselves.
Tickets are limited and will sell out pretty damn sharp, plus this EP is a super rare exclusive to this one gig and never intended for commercial release, lucky buggers! So get your RSVP in early and come dressed for a unique Voodoo Wedding New Orleans funeral march kinda thang and you won't go far wrong.
