JAZZ CAFE PICNICS!

Could there be a more enjoyable and sophisticated way to soak up great music than in the grounds of two of England’s finest stately homes, on a lazy summers afternoon? London’s legendary Jazz Cafe prove they are experts when it comes to delivering the highest quality music and atmosphere by taking up summer residency in Kenwood House in Hampstead on Sunday 10th July and Marble Hill near Richmond on Sunday 14th August. The line ups are guaranteed to set music gourmands salivating in anticipation of a feast of beats so get those picnic hampers dusted and ready!

The Jazz Cafi Picnics are two all-day events open to young people, music fans and families alike. They promise a live programme of diverse but complimentary bands chosen for their talent and exceptional ability. Performing at Kenwood House in July will be:

  • Lemon Jelly whose delicious take on electronic music creates sonic sparkles and swirls
  • Nitin Sawhney will return after his hugely popular performance at last year’s event
  • Louie Vega is playing with his band Elements of Life who profess to be dedicated to love, family, spiritualism and social awareness by creating a brand of samba, salsa and soul influenced music that celebrates life
  • The Earlies with their big sounding psychedelic rock and blissful multilayered harmonies
  • RSL – A Manchester based world music band making their live debut

The Marble Hill line up in August is just as delicious:

  • Rvyksopp, Norway’s leftfield duo who’s magical jazz-fuelled melodies whose albums have been heaped with critical acclaim
  • Morcheeba, classy chill out
  • The Herbaliser with their beat heavy blended hip hop
  • Quantic Soul Orchestra – featuring Alice Russell l9 piece funk, soul, Afro, boogie extravaganza
  • K-OS, (pronounced chaos) who sings and raps over his lush, instrumental driven hip hop
  • Acoustic Ladyland, high-energy punk rock jazz whose live sets unleash a hell bent funk fury

The Jazz Cafi chose the two sophisticated settings because they wanted to offer music fans somewhere beautiful as a backdrop for its sonic feast.

Kenwood House begins at 3pm, while Marble Hill commences at midday and tickets for both events start from £32.50. Guests are allowed to bring picnics and drinks but can take advantage of the onsite bars.
