Sheffield and Rotherham based band, Redshed, have signed to new independent record label, This Sound.
The band have been a regular feature on the north and north west live scene and the announcement comes hot on the heels of their performance at the Leadmill supporting Brighton's indie breakthrough band, Kooks.
“This is happening at the right time for us. We've establishing ourselves on the live circuit over the last couple of years and have won a couple of major regional Battle of the Bands competitions on the way. But we're ready to reach out wider and this deal will allow us to do that.”
“We've already issued a self-released EP (“You Won't Sell Our Lives”; available through the bands website, link)
The band features Simon Pashley on Vocals, Simon Thompson on Guitar and Vocals, Will Pashley on Guitar, Paul Thompson on Bass and Richard Walker on Drums.
This Sound manager, Mitch, said, “We've been talking to Redshed for some months now and even if this deal hadn't been reached, we'd already agreed that we'd like them to join the label's UK tour in October. Now they'll be there in their own right as This Sound artists. They're an exciting band both live and on record and we're delighted to be working together with them.”
The debut release with the label is planned for October and will be distributed through Universal Music, making it available in all high street record shops, on line retailers and through the major download sites.
