Glasswerk London Vacancies

Two position have recently come available at Glasswerk London:

Promoter

As Glasswerk continues to grow nationwide, we are on the eve of the launch of our Glasgow and South Coast websites, we inevitably wish to host more and more live events. London currently hosts about 8 gigs a month, and by 2006 our plan is for this figure to be 20. This can only be achieved by bringing through more quality promoters, who are committed to seeing Glasswerk become the #1 independent nationwide promoter of live music.

We are not looking for people who just see Glasswerk as a vehicle for promoting their own existing night or band. We want people with a passion for live music who are keen to develop as promoters.

In the early days you will probably rep existing events that have been organised by Glasswerk, for a set fee. This may involve liaising with artists re times and equipment, then making sure night runs smoothly.

If things work out, you prove your worth, and can show a clear knowledge of how Glasswerk organises, works and promotes, then you will be able to start your own night (eg Glasswerk Presents: Cold Heat). While Glasswerk willbe there backing you up, it will be your job to book bands and promote the night. You will then be given a percentage cut of profits.

Our plan is to develop excellent promoters who can work reliably on their own, organising profitable events that Glasswerk can be proud of. Ideally (but not essentially) we are seeking young men and women who are in touch with the rock and metal scenes, particularly young up-and-coming bands. If you are organised, hard-working, pay attention to detail, sociable, good nder pressure, and above all love live music, then we want to hear from you.

Work Experience

The London office is based in North Harrow (Metropolitan Line) and can now offer a work experience position one day a week.

This will involve numerous tasks including adding news onto the website, assisting website editor with cd mail-out to reviewers, and organisation and paperwork, as well as investigating new bands, for the Head of Promotions.

In return we can provide a warm working ebvironment, unlimited cups of tea, and free cd's and gig tickets!
