Emergenza International Acoustic Showcase Winners

After a talent-packed event featuring top acoustic artists from all across Europe, the final was upon us. Scotland's very own Lee Patterson did us proud winning the accolade of Best Showman and the prize of an Ernie Ball endorsement which should see him with enough acoustic strings to last him ‘til at least next summer!

Speaking afterwards of his endorsement Lee said, “anyone who has witnessed the destruction I bring down on guitars will know how appropriate that is!” and of his experience of the event itself, he elaborated, “I think it's fair to say that if it was a brothel I wouldn't be the prettiest, I wouldn't dress the finest or smell the best, but I'd give the most bang for the buck!”

Lee put in a great performance that had all eyes glued to the stage and the crowd cheering him all the way with his infectious brand of blues. This, of course, led to him being approached (at one point swamped!) by some useful contacts that should hopefully see him playing around the country and maybe even the world in the future.

The ultimate Emergenza Acoustic Winner is: Jeremy Bares (France). Jeremy is very technically gifted and will be able to show this off at the NAMM, Los Angeles and the Frankfurt Messe next year, where some of our musicians have been offered endorsement deals from leading music manufacturers. Jeremy also won the customised LX Ovation guitar.

Winner of Most Original Performance went to Marty & Gus (Sweden) who won an Ovation LX acoustic guitar. The Swedish twins added something a little different to the night – one playing acoustic bass and backing vocals, the other singing, playing guitar with his left hand, while playing a shaker and drumming on his guitar (at the same time) with his right hand and also playing the tambourine with his foot! As you can imagine, the crowd were transfixed on this impressive two-man-band!

The crowd favourite was Guilt Hands Shining (London) who won a Takamine guitar.
