DEEP ELM SIGNS ENGLAND'S FIGHTSTAR

DEEP ELM RECORDS is pleased to announce that London, England's FIGHTSTAR has joined the label's roster. FIGHTSTAR was nominated as Best British Newcomer at the 2005 Kerrang! Awards and is one of Alternative Press' 100 Bands You Need To Know in 2006. The band spent the majority of 2005 touring with Taking Back Sunday and Armor For Sleep and recording with ChrisSheldon (Foo Fighters, Feeder) and Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Funeral For A Friend).

FIGHTSTAR is Charlie Simpson (vocals / guitar), Alex Westaway
(vocals / guitar), Dan Haigh (bass) and Omar Abidi (drums).

Deep Elm will release a nine track full-length titled “They Liked You Better When You Were Dead” featuring the single “Paint Your Target” in North America on April 11, 2006. The release will be available on CD as well as through all major digital download providers includingiTunes and eMusic. FIGHTSTAR will also appear on Deep Elm's Limited Edition 10th
Anniversary Double CD titled “10 Years In The Game…And The Hit's Keep Coming.” FIGHTSTAR will be touring the UK in March, followed by a US tour in the Summer.

FIGHTSTAR explodes from the gates on “They Liked You Better When You Were Dead” with the intensity, fire and passion dialed to angerously high levels. FIGHTSTAR opt for a fierce, heavy approach laced with unpredictable post-hardcore flourishes, pummeling guitars, a tight
