Fopp is kicking off 2006 by bagging some of the most widely talked about bands of the year to perform in its stores nationwide. Acts such as We Are Scientists and Mystery Jets will be playing to music lovers up and down the country, demonstrating just how strong Fopp's commitment is to its customers and to providing a platform for cutting edge music.
New York-based Coheed and Cambria are set to rock the Manchester store with their dynamic and infectious sound on Feb 2nd. Next up are California-based rockers We Are Scientists playing Manchester on March 5th ahead of their April tour of the UK, with Mystery Jets from London's Eel Pie Island – playing the Covent Garden store on March 9th – appearing ahead of the NME tour. And Atlantic's new signing Jim Noir will perform no less than six dates around the country, supporting the release of the first single 'Key of C' from the album Tower of Love. (All in-store dates and details below).
The artists follow in the footsteps of Franz Ferdinand, Starsailor and Magic Numbers, who have all played at Fopp stores in recent years. Now that there are even more Fopp Stores there'll be even more music. There are now 24 Fopp outlets in the UK, with the last few months seeing three new stores open in London, along with further Fopp's springing up in Bath, Brighton, East Kilbride and Southampton.
