Glasswerk Leeds Academy Preview

Glasswerk.co.uk/leeds proudly announces the opening of the Glasswerk Leeds Academy at Club Mine, Leeds University. Club Mine is a brand spanking new venue featuring state of the art design with a 450 capacity making into the hottest venue in town.

On 16th March 2006 we will see Glasswerk Leeds Academy showing off some of the finest local talent. We have Piskie Sits, Vatican Jet, Bam Bam Francs and The High Chairs.

Piskie Sits
Wrath records finest troupers! The Piskie Sits will be headlining this fine occasion. The Piskie’s are a well developed mystique taken from fine inspirations such as Pavement, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur JR, Sebadoh, Breeders. The Wakefielder’s will be giving the academy a real treat with their impressive sounds and will be oozing with energy after their recent trip to the BBC's legendary Maida Vale studios where the band recorded a session at the personal request of Radio 1 'OneMusic' presenter Huw Stephens.

Vatican Jet
These geezers are no strangers to the Leeds music network. Dodge Bullets and his gang will be gracing the academy with their rip roaring guitar flips and catchy rock tunes. Some say Pixie’s others say Nirvana, but who cares the jets have their own stick it to you style. Ramona Luvs VJ is a top tune with pounding beats and teasing guitars with addictive vocals. Glasswerk Leeds can’t wait for their appearance and 2006 will see Vatican Jet being the new Kaiser’s in town.

Bam Bam Francs
This band need no introductions, fresh from their appearance on the new Dance to the radio compilation with ‘Bam Bam You’re Dead’, the Francs will be giving out their well loved punk, funk electro pop. Devilish and dangerous Bam Bam Francs will have the youngsters hurtling about Club Mine in time to ripping tunes like ‘The Day I share with TC’. But more impressive is new effort ‘antagonist’ which will be another addictive tune to look forward to hearing live.

The High Chairs
Formed in the summer of 2005, The High Chairs are a no nonsense group of musicians who adopt a mixture of fine melodic tunes from eclectic influences. We look forward to what could be a big year for the band with excellent efforts like ‘(The Secret Life of) Mr Jones’. Gritty Charlatans with tuneful harmonies a most exciting prospect.
