There are loads of Band Competitions out there aren't there… The lesser ones offer the winners a keg of beer, the slightly better ones make promises of record deals and studio time. But here is one with a truly awesome prize – widespread promotion of your band all across America, including a trip for the band to New York, complete with loads of new equipment!
In March 2005 BritBus Tour founder Julia Jones launched the very first USA tour in her double-decker bus as a promotional campaign bringing the latest UK music to Americans along the route. This road-trip captured the attention of the US media and reached millions of people. Now BritBus Tour 2006 hits the road again in May and we want you to be a part of it.
The competiton is based on the submission of mp3's alone rather than live performances. All bands will be judged throughout March by the New York University Steinhardt Music Business Program's entire A&R Class. THREE UK BANDS will be selected as finalists and their music featured throughout the entire 4000 mile BritBus Tour across America during May. Yes that means high-profile promotion of your band across America including LA, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, New York City.
the Brit Bus Tour will then be inviting the American audience to listen to the 3 finalists' music online and vote for their favourite act along with partners Fuse TV, SIRIUS Radio, CBS The Early Show, and Filter Magazine.
They will announce the winner when BritBus Tour 2006 reaches the Cleveland Rock & Roll Hall of Fame AND if all band members are available, they will be brought out to meet the tour at the final BritBus events in New York on May 25th/26th.
As well as this high-profile promotion across America the winning band will win the following great prizes:
A Gibson SG guitar
An Ashdown bass amplifier
A Premier 'Artist Series' drumkit and hardware
6 months further promotion on the BritBus Tour website
Note: Entrants must be aged 21 or above, a British band, and NOT signed to a major label.
