The time has come when the finale to the Summer, the unmissable, indomitable Creamfields announces its line up! Now in its 9th year and moving to a new site in the heart of the northwest countryside, this years show on Saturday 26th August Bank Holiday Weekend has a fresh and exciting new feel about it, with a more diverse line up of new breakthrough talent that will appeal to the more discerning music lovers. If you thought last years 40,000 capacity sell out show was good, just wait until this years extravaganza!
Creamfields who will be joined for a second year with radio partners Galaxy Radio has firmly established itself as the UK's best dance festival, (Voted 2 years running in the UK Festival Awards & voted as 'Festival Event of the Year' in the House Music Awards) so it is with great pleasure that we announce this years headliners The Prodigy! The Prodigy, voted as the UK's 'Best Festival Dance Act' of 2005 has played an integral part in the evolution of the dance scene since the early 90's. This seminal band navigated the high wire, balancing artistic merit and mainstream visibility with more flair than any electronic act of the 90's. They are currently riding high from the success of their Platinum selling album 'Their Law – The Singles' which went straight in at #1 in the UK Album charts. In 2005 their live performances electrified audiences around the world including the sell out 60,000 capacity Creamfields Argentina festival in November 2005.
Another addition to the armoury of this year's Main Stage is Gnarls Barkley! Having recently made chart history as the first act to top the singles chart on download sales alone, 'Crazy' is the track and if you've not heard it…what rock have you been living under?! Consisting of former Goodie Mob member Cee-Lo and notorious Gorillaz/The Grey Album Producer Danger Mouse, Gnarls Barkley are undoubtedly 2006's hottest emerging outfit! Expect a set of pyschedelic soul masterpieces, we reckon its going to be a highlight of the day!
Joining them on the Main stage for what will no doubt be another electrifying live performance is the awesome Goldfrapp. The uber babe of electropop will be bringing a touch of glamour and eccentricity plus a much needed dose of femininity to the show! Ooh La La! And to kick off the days main stage action in true chaotic style will be The Zutons, delivering a set of rock 'n' soul, these local boys…and girl are simply perfect for an afternoon jam under the summer sun and are a diversifying step towards a more eclectic and unique show!
As if this colossal set of live acts isn't enough to entertain, then 2006 brings together some outstanding arenas to wet your tastebuds! Starting off with the 10,000 capacity Cream & Goodgreef Arena, line ups don't get much bigger than this, expect the usual high quality trance, tech trance and driving beats from the best of the best, Paul Van Dyk and Ferry Corsten will be jetting in from Ibiza to perform exclusively, along with Tiesto who after a 3 year hiatus returns by popular demand! Joining the stable is Cream legend Paul Oakenfold, Goodgreef's very own Eddie Halliwell (Mixmag DJ Of the Year), Armin Van Buuren, Marco V, Adam Sheridan and Gareth Wyn .
Subliminal Sessions brings the kings of the House music fraternity together, headed up by the man himself Erick Morillo, expect the usual fun & games from the likes of Harry Choo Choo Romero, Jose Nunez, Jorge Jaramillo and a special guest appearance from David Guetta, plus some debut appearances from men of the moment Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell, a breakthrough mafia if ever there was one!
Chibuku returns with some fresh and unforgettable jocks on board including 2 Many DJs who played a stonker of a set last year, answer machine specialist Green Velvet makes a long awaited return, with his super twisted techno and house needing no introduction. Tiga is still basking in the glory of the success of the string of singles from his new album, dancefloor friendly party electro and heavy basslines are his signature sound, so expect a real treat! Others include Plump DJ's, Annie Mac, Touche, and Switch aka Dave Taylor who debuts after having a blistering year remixing everyone and levelling the best international dance floors with both his dj'ing and production, he is without reproach the UK's hottest house talent!
First of the new arenas this year is the Circus & Cream Audio Deluxe Arena, expect some co-co comedy moves accompanied by some seriously full on house! Roger Sanchez leads the way, joined by Timo Maas, Mylo DJ Set, Layo & Bushwacka, Circus ringmaster Yousef, South America's biggest DJ and all round nice boy Hernan Cattaneo, Lewis Boardman and all topped off with a live performance from X-Press 2.
The second of the new arenas comes from the brainchild of the Scratch Perverts: Beatdown. If drum & bass and generally a full on phat bass line is your thing then this is where you need to be with a line up including a highly anticipated live set from DJ Shadow who will no doubt be testing some new tracks from his forthcoming album, Andy C, Planet Pendulum & MC Verse, DJ Marky & Dynamite MC, DJ Hype & MC GQ, Friction, Future Bound and a live performance from Foreign Beggars.
Tidy return for a 3rd year, for what always turns about to be one of the busiest and most hardcore of arenas from start to finish, the daddies themselves the Tidy Boys return joined by the hedonistic Mark EG, witness a live festival exclusive from BK, and unforgettable DJ sets from the likes of Andy Farley, Rob Tissera, Lisa Pin-Up, Lee Haslam, Paul Glazby, Amber D, Kutski, Paul Maddox, JP & Juksey.
Strongbow CiderHouse may have a new name but the simple essence of what is now a firm fixture at Creamfields remains the same… great music, alfresco drinking and an aromatic view of the wonderland! Expect performances from Coldcut Live, Erol Alkan, M.A.N.D.Y, Justice, Digitalism, 2020 Soundsystem, Kris Bones, Simian Mobile Disco and Spektrum.
For the more elitist of you who prefer a more decadent but exclusive vibe to your festival outings then this years Hospitality Arena will surely deliver! Hacienda & Cream Classics is the rule of the day joining together 2 of the worlds biggest names in dance culture history for one time only. For those lucky enough to have experienced the Hacienda or Cream, this arena is a great chance to relive the memories, for others not so fortunate, this will give you an opportunity to hear the music by the DJ's who rocked it first time round! DJ's include Peter Hook who will be performing an exclusive New Order DJ Set, Graeme Park, Arthur Baker, Jon Da Silva, Dave Haslam, K-Klass and babycream resident Andy Mac.
Offering the ultimate alternative festival experience, Creamfields welcomes back the action packed After Shock Arena.
