The Great Escape Festival

The Great Escape Festival will be held in Brighton on the 18th – The 20th of May.
The Great Escape is a brand new festival, taking the best bits from renowned events like SXSW and Eurosonic – two of the best loved international music festivals which allow ticket holders to walk from gig to gig with one wristband – and bringing them to Brighton with over 100 of the most exciting up and coming new bands from 14 different countries over 3 days.

MTV2, The Fly, Mojo, XFM and Kerrang! are all taking over a venue for the 3 day festival and will be hosting their very own nights showcasing bands from all over the World. Other nights will be hosted by Drowned in Sound, Brighton Live, The Metway Sessions, Fierce Panda and Transgressive among others. Ticket holders can pick their favourite magazine, radio station or TV channel and get to catch their hottest bands live!

The Kooks, The Futureheads, British Sea Power, The Feeling, The Bees, The Cribs, Martha Wainwright and many more will join the cream of new talent from around the World including Australia (The Morning After Girls), France (A.S Dragon), Finland (Disco Ensemble), Iceland (Sign), Switzerland (Delilahs), Denmark (Spleen United), Norway (Sereena Maneesh) the US (The Academy Is) and more including a focus this year on the very best artists from Canada with 15 of the brightest young stars including Metric, The High Dials, You Say Party! We Say Die! and Controller Controller. Each night will also feature parties hosted by some of the most respected labels, DJs and club promoters.
Full line up details are now available from the festival website so festival goers can choose to either buy a day ticket or the £35 weekend wristband which will allow music fans to access ALL of the Great Escape’s 15 venues – all are easily within walking distance of each other – and sample some of the bars and clubs in the UK’s coolest city by the sea.

Covering a wide cross section with all genres and tastes catered for – check out the noisiest dirtiest new rockers at the dark and intimate Freebutt or make a night of it at the weird and wonderful Hanbury Ballroom, you’re spoilt for choice with each venue as diverse and colourful as Brighton itself!
