Diesel-U-Music gives the next generation of artists both an industry and
public platform on an international scale, bringing them out of their bedrooms and garages and showcasing their talents across three genres: Rock, Urban/Hip Hop and Electronic. Past winners of Diesel-U-Music Awards around the world include Mylo, We Are Scientists, Souvenir (Tom Vek), Infadels and DJ Yoda.
From 1st May – 25th June, online entries from around the world will be
accepted for this year's Diesel-U-Music on the official website, link.
Entrants hoping to be the “Next Big Thing” will have eight weeks to upload music, biogs and photos for the ears of a team of judging partners made up of music media and record labels. The judging partners, assigned to each territory will then make a shortlist of three territory finalists in each genre making a total of nine finalists in each territory. The UK finalists will go on the road this summer to show us what they¹re made of before the judging partners wittle them down to a list of three UK finalists. There will be a total of 18 global finalists who are then given to a panel of leading international music industry figures who make the final decision as to who will win this year's Diesel-U-Music Awards.
Acts taking part this year will be able to exploit and capitalise on the
press, radio and TV exposure which comes with Diesel-U-Music plus the chance to perform in front of industry execs and tastemakers. Winners of the Channel 4-televised Diesel-U-Music Awards will also receive on-going support from Diesel-U-Music and its partners as part of their prize.
