Latitude festival: New acts announced

The UK's newest festival just gets bigger with more acts and performers being confirmed for the inaugural event. Just added….

The Zutons, Mercury Rev, Regina Spektor, 1990's, Scissors for Lefty, ThePipettes…

The 3 live music arenas will host some of the very best in original, innovative bands, hand-picked specifically to fit in with Latitude's edgy, alternative slant and to help create that all important holiday atmosphere. Adding to the hazy summer soundtrack Brit nominees The Zutons wield their Merseybeat, sax-rock to Friday's Main Stage, and the ever experimental Mercury Rev and the unique piano/singer songwriter Regina Spektor provide the ambience to Sunday's line-up.

They join a veritable wealth of talent already on the bill. Snow Patrol headline the Friday night. Performing tracks from their multi- platinum selling album, Final Straw and their latest Number 1 opus 'Eyes Open' in these small, intimate surroundings will be a majestic spectacle not to be missed. The mesmerizing Mercury Award Winner Antony & The Johnsons makes his ONLY UK performance this year headlining the Main Stage on the Saturday, and the ethereal post-rockers Mogwai will make their only UK festival appearance this year, closing the Main Stage on the Sunday.

Latitude also offers the chance to see the very best in up and coming music, and so far 2007's hottest bands Scissors For Lefty, 1990's, and The Pippettes are all confirmed to play.

The festival is July 14th – 16th 2006 at Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk.
Tickets are available from Mean Fiddler link
