SEAGULL!

SEAGULL! Presents …

Coming in off the Mersey and perching itself in the Magnet is the new gig night Seagull! The date of this marvellous event is Tuesday 13th June and will have the very best in good old Indie Pop. Acts playing include Handsome Mike, The Iain Luke Experience and You Remind Me Of Rasputin and Jo Bywater. Doors 8 pm, entry £4 with flyer.

Handsome Mike- The Handsome one hailing from Warrington, steals members of other bands (mainly The Randoms) to make sweet, sweet music. It makes him happy. Hugely funny lyrics with songs including “Evil School”, “Take him home and have him” and “Sympathy for the ugly stalker”, mixed with a great rock n roll sound. Handsome Mike cannot be missed!

The Iain Luke Experience- The band from North Wales formed by Iain Luke this time last year after four years of Iain being a solo act. Influences range from Bryan Adams, No Doubt and Blink 182 means a sound that isn’t often heard. This will be the first gig for the band after taking a short break before going on to do more gigs in Chester and a homecoming gig in Holywell.

You Remind Me Of Rasputin- The forgotten offspring of Russian mystic Rasputin, frozen at their birth in 1901, and implanted into 4 Wigan families, wanting children, over 80 years later. After reuniting with each other in High School they all realised who they were and who they owed their talents to. And so it was YRMOR started their musical adventure experimenting in the laboratory of Indie Rock making a jolly good old racket.

Jo Bywater-She takes the form of an innovative and inspired, emotional sharing and shedding musical force and joins the pool of credible independent songwriters in the music industry. She is an infection of tasty riffs and blues rawness, a melting pot of styles and influence, laced with funk and injected with the rusty edge of vocal honesty. Her tunes are comprised of lyrics with a view coated in catchy melody pushing the headway while the guitar chases them up in the rear but definitely not the background.
