On Saturday June 24th London's most core annual skateboarding event will rock the capital organised by the UK's most prolific underground skate promoters -Crossfire .
At midday on Saturday 24th June, skateboarders all over the UK will congregate at Southbank for Crossfire's Comp of the Year underneath the Royal Festival Hall on the Thames at Belvedere Road, London SE1 8XX.
The Southbank is a legendary area for skateboarders in London and has been since the 1970's. Over the last 18 months, the area has turned into an official skate spot for London's local skaters.
In 2005, Crossfire threw by far the best skate jam that area has ever seen and now it is back for another session where the UK's best pro skateboarders will compete for £500 cash between 12pm and 6pm on Saturday June 24th.
This FREE event will be screened via Genex on Extreme Sports Channel this summer and covered by all of the UK's core skate magazines attracting skaters from all over the UK.
Check link or link for full details.
At 6pm on Saturday June 24th, the hordes of skateboarders from the event will then ride to the Lord Mayors office on the Thames in London to hold the Worlds Fastest Skate Jam in UK.
This is to raise awareness of the awful skate parks that are being built in the capital and lack of World Class facilities. Skateboarding is not a crime but it has been violated over the years by councils building the worst facilities in Europe for kids in the UK. The Lord Mayors office will be deserted, then rammed with skaters holding a full on comp with music, MC etc, then everyone will disappear, all within 5 minutes…
Please note that this competition will provide THE best street skateboarding the South East has to offer and is in no way comparable to corporate sponsored, multi genre extreme sports events that ruin the energy of what really goes on in our scene.
