Boy Oh Boy!

A New York judge has scolded Boy George for not complying with a community service order, saying that he either raked leaves or he would end up in jail.

The judge commented:

“This is a simple matter of five days of community service. It's up to you as to whether it will be an exercise in humiliation or an exercise of humility.”

In March, the same judge convicted the Culture Club singer of wasting police time for falsely reporting a burglary so that he could escape the charge of drug possession, as police found cocaine in his New York apartment. The singer's lawyer argued that his client would be subject to a “media circus” if he was forced to clean the city with other offenders and suggested he work for an Aids charity instead, surely the more desirable option for the singer.
