You may have spotted her on Jools Holland, but besides this one off and a few shows around the UK, Camille is almost unheard of around our fair isle.
With a voice already frequently being described as similar to Bjork, but with very much her own style, Camille released her debut album 'Le Fille' on June the 19th to critical acclaim here and in her native France. Her quirky, almost childlike vocals are emphasized in the video for Ta Douleur, which shows her struggling to get out of a wool dress and flinging herself around in the process. Funky beats and a polished production however, lend her more to a main stream market as Camille could easily appeal to the children whose vocal style she imitates or the teenagers who want to look and act like her.
