Summer is all about infectious pop tunes, and with their new single ‘Awake’, My Awesome Compilation have produced the perfect example of what sunshine-influence anthems are all about.
Taken from the debut full length album ‘Actions’, ‘Awake’ tells the tale of disenchanted small town mentalities and, set to a tune as catchy as this, the message has never been put across more effectively.
‘Awake’ is the third single to be taken from ‘Actions’, following on from ‘Put Up A Fight’ and ‘Set To Go’, and looks set to join them in receiving support from Radio 1 and XFM, whilst the video, set at your typical English village fete, looks likely, as with it’s predecessors, to gain a number of plays on both Kerrang TV and Scuzz.
My Awesome Compilation’s infectiously catchy rock and storming live shows have also won them fans in other bands, notably Fall Out Boy, Brand New, Funeral For A Friend, Akaline Trio, Fightstar, A and Reel Big Fish who have all invited them to join them on tour or for exclusive one off dates. To support the release of ‘Awake’, the band head out for a string of headline and festival dates this summer:
'Awake' is released on the 7th of August 2006 on Sorepoint.
