Having recently confirmed the return of Kentucky AFC to the live arena one would think that Mr Huw (Huw Owen) would be concentrating on his band, but his solo work proceeds at a furious pace as well. His recent trip to Cuba furnished him with all manner of new instruments and sounds which he has already used on the material for his debut album and an EP planed for later in the year. Debut album ‘Hwrs a Lladron’ (Whores and Thieves) is all but finished with only one track, that will feature Swci Boscawen’s Mared Lenny, left to record. Not satisfied with one release this year, Mr Huw has also given details of his first EP that he hopes to release via Kimberly Records before Christmas. Kentucky AFC hve already confirmed live dates for this winter with extra dates added already, not that this would stop Mr Huw as he has already confirmed 3 solo dates with more to come.
