NEW WELSH Indie gods The Automatic have just been confirmed as the headlining act on the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour coming early next year. Previous headlining acts have been bands such as Maximo Park, The Killers and Funeral for a Friend. The tour has also broken an array of new talent such as Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand and Coldplay. Their meteoric rise to fame has come fast over the past 12 months moving from small venues across the UK to now headlining Brixton Academy on the 23rd of February next year. They will be joined on the tour by current NME favorites The View, The Horrors and south coast new boys Mumm-Ra. The tour goes nationwide from the January the 29th 2007 with all details as regards dates and tickets to be found at the NME home page of NME.Com.
