ALONG CAME A SPIDERSIMPSON

5th Dec – Jabez Clegg, Manchester
9th Dec – Barfly, Liverpool

In early 2003 founding members Adam Zindani – vocals/guitar and Sam Yapp – drums formed SPIDER SIMPSON – a British rock band with a blasting, high energy American sound designed to blow even the Yanks away.

Taking their name from the film Angel Heart – Spider Simpson was the leader of the Spider Simpson Orchestra of which Johnny Favourite was the singer – and with fellow members Jo Crofts – guitar, Neil Irving – bass and Dean Deavall – keyboards now on board, they played their first home gig at The Railway in Birmingham during September of that year.

Over the next year, the band went on to build a loyal fan base from the roots up by gigging extensively around the UK, which culminated in being invited to open the last Stereophonics tour.

In 2005, a self-produced demo caught the attention of the newly formed midlands rock radio station Kerrang, who play listed the band?s track Lose Myself during prime time hours, despite the band not having a record deal. With Kerrang's support, combined with relentless gigging and word of mouth, SPIDER SIMPSON are now being championed by both Dave Grohl of The Foo Fighters and Kelly Jones of The Stereophonics.

Grohl was so impressed with SPIDER SIMPSON that he invited the band to record their debut album in his own personal studio in LA, working with his producer Nick Raskulinecz – Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, Ash. With the album in its final stages, and armed with rift packed anthems, SPIDER SIMPSON are ready to be unleashed.
