James Brown Dies

Singer James Brown, known as the “Godfather of Soul”, has died at the age of 73, his agent has said.
He was admitted to hospital in Atlanta after being diagnosed with severe pneumonia but died at 0145 local time (0645 GMT), said Frank Copsidas.
James Brown was born on May 3rd 1933. While Brown's early singles were major hits in the southern United States and regularly became R&B Top Ten hits, he and the Flames were not nationally successful until his self-financed live show was captured on the LP Live at the Apollo which was released without the consent of his label; King Records.
James Brown pioneered the evolution of soul and funk music and his many fans and admirers will sorely miss him.
