Bloc Party on New Album
Bloc Party say their second album will be more like Coldplay – though by
that I think they mean it will be more accessible, and not that it will be
dull, uninspiring and bland. I hope that's what they mean.
Speaking to Billboard about 'A Weekend In The City', out next month, the
band's Kele Okereke said: “I wanted to make something that could be more
easily understood, without dumbing it down”, while bassist Gordon Noakes
added: “It's got everything that makes a Coldplay song, plus more. It has a
lush sound without being too syrupy”.
