This Sunday sees the return of Your Sound to Glasgow’s King Tuts and once again budding rock and rollers are encouraged to come along. Firmly established as the best new initiative for unsigned acts, Your Sound takes place from 4-8pm and on this occasion Guest DJs Greenock record label Grace Record will showcase their favourite tunes. If you haven’t heard (you have now), Your Sound is the perfect opportunity for unsigned artists to network, meet other bands and get their music heard by the right people. Unsigned acts are being urged to send their demos for consideration now for the chance of being added to the playlist for February's and future events this year. The Artist of the Month plus the two runners up will as always receive promotion on the Your Sound website and a feature on gigsinscotland.com plus their profile will be added to the King Tut's website.
The second term of Your Sound, which kicked off in October 2006, has seen a number of talented upcoming musicians nominated as artist of the month such as electro artist Joe Hay, folk musician Rick Redbeard and electronic duo Sixpeopleaway. Your Sound has helped bands to secure high profile gigs and press. Already bands from Term One such as We Are the Physics and The Dykeenies have been touted by music magazines as ones to watch. Your Sound organisers are seeking demos now for consideration at both February's and future Your Sound events. To find out how to get the chance to be on the playlist log onto link and follow the instructions.
STV came along to Your Sound in November to interview promoters and delegates for their website. They successfully captured the vibe and atmosphere of Your Sound and new footage of bands being interviewed will go live on the website this month. To view the mini features go to link.
