James Brown Moved To Tomb

The body of soul legend James Brown has been moved to a tomb at the home of one of his daughters in South Carolina.

The Godfather of Soul's partner Tomi Rae Hynie and children, who have been in dispute with each other over his estate, took part in a private ceremony on Saturday (March 10) with other family and close friends.

Brown died on Christmas Day from congestive heart failure resulting from complications related to pneumonia. He was 73. His body was initially kept in a room on his estate before being moved to an undisclosed location before Saturday's service at Beech Island in South Carolina.

It is expected to be moved again once a public mausoleum is built.

Brown's close friend The Reverend Al Sharpton presided over the ceremony in a temporary site by the home of Deanna Brown Thomas.

According to the BBC, Sharpton said Brown's adult children did not want to wait for the legal disputes to be resolved before laying him to rest, saying they “wanted their father entombed with dignity”.
