Rockwerk '07

Rockwerk Easter Weekend
7th + 9th April 2007
Barfly club, Liverpool

Featuring: 10 Reasons to Live, Mark Morriss (Bluetones), The Idiot Rate,
Metro Manila Aide, Colonopenbracket.

Glasswerk is the promotions company that every year brings larger and larger indoor festivals across the UK. From Outbreak in London to In The City in Manchester and now Liverpool. The Rockwerk Easter weekend debuted last year and it’s the huge success means that the team are keen to repeat it again this Easter bank holiday weekend.

The aim is to draw a spotlight onto the wealth of high-class local musical talent the city has on offer, even if that means adding a few big names to the bill. Last year it was Misty’s Big Adventure, who went on to have one of the tracks of 2006 in Fashion Parade and Exit Ten, who following their Rockwerk appearance joined the heavy metal masses on the road to the Download festival for a performance there.

This year will feature performances by Mark Morriss (The Bluetones) and Colonopenbracket. There are great Liverpool headliners also in the shape of 10 Reasons To Live and The Idiot Rate.

The true heroes of the Rockwerk festival are of course, the unsigned talent in Liverpool and the surrounding areas. It’s an opportunity for the cream of the local music scene to join together on a bill of monstrous proportions. Glasswerk hopes to draw the attention of the A+R people of the record labels to come and witness the dearth of musical skill and passion, whilst having a really good time doing what so many of us love doing best; listening, watching and rocking out to live music.

Thesecond day will be the Bank Holiday Monday. The former Masque theatre will house a stage dedicated the alternative rock music so expect some screaming and plenty of iron cobras*. The bar room will showcase something a bit different in the form of the mighty Metro Manila Aide! Guaranteed there will be something for everyone, as long as you like rock music!

Last, year it was The Laze who stole the show, along with a bunch of then fourteen year olds called The Travesties. Who will it be this year? The lineup is now complete.
